Haribon celebrated Earth Day last April 21 with awesome, fun, educational activities for young and old alike with this year’s theme, “Save Manila Bay”.
People swarmed the Haribon booth after the exhibit was opened to the general public at around 9AM. Families enjoyed the game organized by Haribon staff; kids learned and played at the art workshop facilitated by the Young Artists’ Studio, and puppet show prepared by Victoria Court. The Biodiversity on Wheels (BOW) featured birds of Manila Bay, and showed a video of Planet Earth.
Amidst the scorching heat of the summer sun, Haribon Ambassador for Conservation (HAC) BJ “Tolits” Forbes gamely posed with fans and admirers for the Meet and Greet session at the Haribon booth.
One of the highlights of the Haribon event was the launching of Ms. Iza Calzado as one of Haribon’s newest green champions, Ms. Iza Calzado.
The annual Earth day event is not just a celebration for our Mother Earth, but it has become a venue to educate the people on how to care for our environment, and get them involved in actions to nature conservation.
More than the festivities, it’s about giving back.
Earth Day 2013 was presented by Haribon Foundation in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Young Artists’ Studio, and Leisure and Resorts World Corporation and AB Leisure Exponent, Inc.
